The Association of Non-Regulated Electricity Customers announced the appointment of Juan Ignacio Gómez as the new executive director of ACENOR AG, a position he will officially assume on June 12, 2026.
Gómez will succeed Javier Bustos, who led the executive management of the union for the last five years, a period in which ACENOR deepened its participation in the regulatory discussion and in the main spaces of dialogue related to energy.
ACENOR stated that the appointment strengthens the association's union work, which represents a large part of the free market customers of the national electricity system.
Juan Ignacio Gómez is a lawyer from Adolfo Ibáñez University and holds a master's degree in Regulation from the same institution. He also has a diploma in Free Competition from the Pontifical Catholic University of Chile.
Throughout his professional career, he has served as an advisor in the Chamber of Deputies and in the Ministry of the General Secretariat of the Presidency. He later served as Legislative Coordinator for the Ministry of Energy and as head of Legislative Advisors for the then Ministry of the Interior and Public Security.
Since 2022 he has been part of the Libertad y Desarrollo team, where he served as coordinator for the National Congress and later as coordinator of the Legislative Program.
Francesca Milani, Chair of the Board of Directors of ACENOR AG, highlighted Gómez's appointment and experience in regulatory and energy matters: “Juan Ignacio has a solid track record in the public and legislative spheres, along with extensive knowledge of the regulatory challenges and institutional functioning of the energy sector. His addition will strengthen the work carried out by ACENOR and contribute to further fostering a constructive dialogue with authorities, companies, clients, and trade associations from various productive sectors. We wish him every success in his new role.”
