The Chilean Association of Renewable Energies and Storage (ACERA AG) held its Extraordinary Assembly of Members this Friday, an event in which the member companies elected seven members to its Council, consolidating the representation of the five segments of the renewable energy and storage value chain in Chile.
With this renewal, the Council, made up of 15 councilors, brings together representatives from generation and storage, transmission, equipment and technology providers, specialized services, and project development, infrastructure and financing.
The diversity of this composition allows for the incorporation of different perspectives into the analysis of the technical, regulatory, and market challenges facing the sector, and strengthens joint work to build proposals aimed at the country's energy development.
The day began with welcoming remarks from Sergio del Campo, who is concluding his term as president of ACERA. In his address, he emphasized legal certainty and regulatory stability as essential conditions for promoting competition, encouraging investment, and moving toward a secure, efficient, and sustainable electricity system. He also underscored the need to strengthen dialogue and collaboration between industry and authorities to develop solutions to the challenges of the energy transition.

“The energy transition presents us with increasingly demanding challenges. To meet them, we need legal certainty, regulatory stability, and ongoing dialogue among the various stakeholders. At ACERA, we must continue building agreements and promoting solutions that allow us to move towards a secure, efficient, competitive, and sustainable electricity system, always putting consumers at the center,” he stated.
The seven elected councilors
The meeting, held at the offices of partner company Guerrero Olivos, brought together more than 80 partners, who participated in the election of their representatives from among ten candidates, reaffirming the importance of working together for the development of the industry.
As a result of the vote, the following seven councilors were elected:
The first five positions will be valid until October 2029; the remaining two will fill existing vacancy periods until October 2027.
“This election marks a milestone for ACERA, because for the first time we have a Board in which all five segments of our association are represented. This reflects the diversity of actors that make up the industry and strengthens our capacity for dialogue, to build common positions, and to address the challenges of the energy transition with a broader and more comprehensive perspective,” said Ana Lía Rojas , Executive Director of ACERA.
A Council with representation from all five segments
The composition of the Council ensures the presence of the five segments that make up ACERA, from generation and transmission to technology providers, consultancies and project developers.
The presence of these different areas in the same governing body makes it possible to address the challenges of the energy transition with a cross-cutting vision of the industry.
ACERA expressed its gratitude for the participation of its member companies and the ten individuals who submitted their candidacies. It also congratulated the elected board members and wished them success in their roles, emphasizing the importance of continuing to work together to address the challenges facing the industry.
The Assembly also recognized those completing their terms on the Council. ACERA especially thanked Sergio del Campo, president of Sonnedix, for his service as president of the association, and Alfredo Solar, Regional Manager for Chile & Southern Cone at Atlas Renewable Energy, for his work as secretary of the Council, acknowledging their contributions to the organization. Recognition was also extended to Óscar Álamos (ISA Energía), Romina Tobar (Prieto Abogados), and Rodrigo Terc (Vestas) for their dedication and contributions as council members.
On Thursday, November 12, at 4:00 p.m., the Council will meet to elect the next president and secretary general of ACERA.
Finally, ACERA thanked Guerrero Olivos for providing its facilities for this Extraordinary Assembly of Members, contributing to the creation of a space for meeting and union participation.
