AISA Group, through its subsidiary Calicanto Solar, has completed the installation of 80,640 solar panels and 1,120 solar trackers for its first photovoltaic park in Argentina, located in the province of San Luis. With this milestone, the project enters a phase focused on electrical installations, technical testing, and the necessary infrastructure for its connection to the national power grid.
The complex is being built in Nogolí, Belgrano department, 48 kilometers from the provincial capital, and represents an investment of USD 36.9 million, of which USD 26.5 million has already been spent. It is currently 81% complete.
Spanning 71 hectares, the park will have an installed capacity of approximately 51 MWp and an estimated annual generation of 110.1 GWh. This production will allow for the incorporation of new renewable energy into the Argentine electricity system.
An investment that adds energy and employment in San Luis

The construction of Calicanto is taking place within a context of growth in renewable energy in Argentina. According to data from CAMMESA, between January and August 2026, almost 18% of the electricity consumed in the country came from renewable sources, a slightly higher share than that recorded in the same period of 2025.
In San Luis, the project has also had an impact on economic activity.
During peak periods, the project employed over 300 workers, with local labor accounting for more than 90%. Construction and connection work is being carried out by companies from the province, with the participation of Argentine suppliers and contractors.
Governor Claudio Poggi visited the park twice. The first time was at the start of construction, when he toured the site with Juan José Retamero, founder and president of AISA Group. Months later, he returned to Nogolí to see the progress of the construction, accompanied by López.

AISA Group's commitment to renewable energy
Calicanto is part of the production diversification strategy of AISA Group, a holding company with investments in mining, fishing, energy, and real estate development. The group has annual revenues of approximately USD 193 million and generates more than 2,000 direct jobs. Its main operations include the Gualcamayo gold mine in San Juan and the Cabo Vírgenes fishing company in Chubut, which projects exports of some 14,000 tons of Patagonian shrimp, worth approximately USD 120 million, to more than 40 countries by 2026.
The construction of Calicanto in Nogolí represents AISA Group's first step into solar energy generation and is part of a long-term investment strategy. The group seeks to consolidate its presence in the Argentine energy sector through the development of new photovoltaic projects, with the goal of progressively expanding its renewable energy generation capacity.
The next steps for implementation
With the installation of the panels and trackers complete, work is now focused on finishing the electrical installations and connection infrastructure. The Operations and Maintenance building is 93% complete, while cable verification and equipment installation continue.
The planned infrastructure includes two 33 kV underground lines and upgrades to the Nogolí Transformer Station, which will allow the energy generated by Calicanto to be incorporated into the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI).
“We now have a very important stage ahead of us on both fronts. At the solar park, we must complete the connections for the low- and medium-voltage direct current wiring, and then proceed with commissioning tests and energization. On the connection front, we have to install the medium-voltage switchgear at both ends and receive, install, and test the transformer at the Nogolí Substation. These tasks are not as visible as the installation of the panels, but they require time, precision, and coordination to ensure that the solar park operates safely and efficiently for many years,” explained Juan Manuel López, general manager of Calicanto Solar.
The project has already received authorization from the National Energy Secretariat to join the Wholesale Electricity Market as a generating agent. Furthermore, Calicanto has commercial agreements in place to sell a portion of the energy it will produce once it becomes operational.
AISA Group is working towards completing the connection to the electrical system and the opening of the park towards the end of the year, once the works, technical tests and corresponding authorizations are completed.
