Parque Arauco reached 345 MW of nominal installed power with the incorporation of Arauco Solar I, becoming the largest renewable generation complex in Argentina concentrated in a single location.
Located in the province of La Rioja, the development currently integrates 285 MW of wind power generation and 60 MW of solar power generation, combining both technologies within the same energy complex.
The full operation of Arauco Solar I during July 2026 represents a new milestone for a project that originated from the use of wind resources and, through successive expansions, has become one of the country's main renewable generation hubs.
With this addition, Parque Arauco ranks above other large Argentine complexes, such as the Loma Blanca wind farm, with 307 MW, in Chubut; the El Quemado solar park, with 305 MW, in Mendoza; and the Cauchari photovoltaic complex, with 300 MW, in Jujuy.

The development in La Rioja is also notable for its large-scale integration of wind and solar power generation. Among the country's hybrid developments is also the San Luis Norte Complex, located in the province of San Luis, with a total capacity of 130.5 MW.
The combination of both sources allows for diversification of the generation profile and more efficient use of the electrical, operational and logistical infrastructure developed on site.

The growth of Parque Arauco also reflects the continuity of a provincial energy policy that allowed for the development of infrastructure, the incorporation of technology, and the generation of local capabilities linked to the renewable energy industry.
From its early wind power stages to the recent addition of the solar park, the complex has progressively expanded its scale and its participation within the Argentine electrical system.
With 345 MW of installed power, Parque Arauco consolidates itself as the largest renewable complex in the country and reaffirms the leading role of La Rioja in the development of renewable energies in Argentina.

Arauco Solar I began operating with outstanding performance
During its testing period, Arauco Solar I exceeded expectations for this initial phase. In June, its first month of operation, the park achieved a plant factor of 20.39%, surpassing the figures for other solar parks in the province during the same period.
The result is particularly significant because it was recorded while the project was still in its testing phase, prior to achieving commercial operation in July. These initial readings reflect very good performance of the new photovoltaic infrastructure and are a positive sign for its commercial operation.
