The agreement strengthens the long-standing collaboration between the two companies and lays the foundation for even closer cooperation in the planning, development, and implementation of BESS systems in Germany. Over the next two years, the partners aim to jointly carry out battery storage projects with a planned portfolio of 1.6 GWh of storage capacity.
Expansion of collaboration
The energy transition requires high-performance storage solutions to ensure renewable energy is available whenever needed. In this context, be.storaged and Sungrow have given new impetus to their existing collaboration by defining the key principles of their future partnership in a framework agreement. The agreement aims to further intensify collaboration throughout the entire project development process, making battery storage project implementation more efficient. Standardized processes, coordinated technical solutions, and early joint planning are intended to accelerate project execution and reduce coordination requirements and feedback loops.
“With this framework agreement, we are creating much more than just the foundation for carrying out individual storage projects,” says Dr. Magnus Pielke , CEO of be.storaged. “Together with Sungrow, we are establishing a long-term collaboration that will allow us to standardize large-scale battery energy storage system (BESS) projects and bring them to market even faster in the future. Close cooperation will enable both companies to respond more quickly to market changes and regulatory requirements. At the same time, we are creating structured feedback loops between project development, facility operation, and technology development. This way, the knowledge gained during planning, construction, and operation can be directly incorporated into the ongoing development of future storage solutions. This is an essential prerequisite for industrializing the management of increasingly larger storage fleets and leveraging synergies in facility management. Furthermore, it will allow us to jointly develop additional business potential across the entire battery storage value chain and expand our business into adjacent areas.”
Moritz Rolf , Vice President and responsible for DACH, Benelux, the Nordic countries and Turkey at Sungrow Europe: “Our close collaboration with be.storaged is based on trust, technical expertise and a shared vision of the technical requirements of the German energy storage market. With this framework agreement, we are laying the foundation for even closer collaboration on future projects, with the aim of efficiently introducing innovative storage technologies to the market and strengthening the energy transition in Germany.”

Combined experience for efficient projects
As a specialized EPC services provider, be.storaged handles the development, planning, procurement, construction, and commissioning of battery storage projects, as well as their operational support. As a leading international provider of battery energy storage systems, power electronics, and related service solutions, Sungrow contributes its technology and manufacturing expertise to this collaboration.
Customers benefit from the many years of experience of both companies and a high degree of reliability in the planning and execution of future storage projects . This structured cooperation also lays the foundation for greater project standardization and enables even closer technical coordination from the earliest stages of the project.
Focus on technology and standardization
Another component of the collaboration is the ongoing development of the storage technology used. Looking ahead, Sungrow will increasingly deploy its new PowerTitan 3.0 large-scale battery storage system. Housed in a 20-foot container, it integrates a 1.78 MW power storage system with a battery capacity of 7.14 MWh and can be expanded to 28.5 MWh. The framework agreement provides the organizational and technical framework for integrating technological innovations into joint projects from an early stage.
1.6 GWh for greater flexibility in the electricity system
With a total planned volume of up to 1.6 GWh, joint battery storage projects will contribute significantly to the integration of renewable energy and the flexibility of the electricity system. Battery storage plays a key role in balancing generation and consumption, and promotes a secure and efficient energy supply.
Corinna Petznik, Head of Supplier Management at be.storaged: “The framework agreement provides both parties with clear and reliable conditions for cooperation. Standardized technical solutions, defined processes, and early coordination will allow us to reduce coordination efforts, shorten response cycles, and implement projects more efficiently. This benefits not only the project teams but also our customers, who depend on the reliability, quality, and speed of execution of their storage projects.”
