The Wholesale Electricity Market Management Company (CAMMESA) has prioritized dispatch of 646 MW of capacity , distributed across eight projects submitted to the unified call for bids for the first and second quarters of 2025 under the Renewable Energy Term Market (MATER) in Argentina. Photovoltaic energy predominates among the winning projects, with 570 MW corresponding to seven solar parks and 76 MW to the Las Campanas wind farm (located in the Comahue region). Of the total capacity allocated to supply large users of the system, only 156 MW will be supplied through the Reference A mechanism (possibility of an 8% curtailment until transmission infrastructure is completed), while the remaining 490 MW will be supplied via the full MATER mechanism (without restrictions or limitations on energy injection), reversing the trend of previous calls for bids. The unique aspect of the Ref A mechanism is that, for the first time, a hybrid project combining photovoltaic generation with batteries was awarded to MATER. The company Solar Energy SA received 60 MW of the 270 MW requested in the town of San José (PDI Alumbrera El Bracho) for its Catamarca II PV park, which includes a 54 MW BESS system with 108 MWh of storage capacity. However, this allocation is contingent upon the transmission line expansion project, which includes the Malvinas 132 kV shunt compensation (increasing export capacity for the Central-Cuyo-NOA region) and the replacement of the Recreo substation series capacitor. The other project designated under the A2 framework of Resolution SE 360/23 is the La Aconquija solar park, belonging to PCR , which obtained 210 MW associated with the installation of ET Monte Quemado series capacitors on both sides of the Cobos - Monte Quemado / Monte Quemado - Chaco 500 kV corridor + 350 MW. Additionally, approval was given to the 200 MW Amanecer VI photovoltaic plant, belonging to Eternum Energy, which is accompanied by the increased power demand from the mining company Santa María SA (Minera Mara). Therefore, it is solely linked to the transmission capacity that will be generated by the increased demand, as detailed by CAMMESA in the final allocation document. Below is the list of all projects awarded in the unified call for the first and second quarters of 2025 under the MATER program.
