Casa dos Ventos put 891 MW of solar power into commercial operation in Mato Grosso do Sul , with the start of operations of the Seriemas and Rio Brilhante photovoltaic complexes, two assets that mark the company's operational entry into electricity generation in the Brazilian state.
The projects required a combined investment of R$ 3 billion and represent more than half of the company's planned deployment in the region. The goal is to reach 1,531 MW of solar capacity by 2027 , as part of a R$ 5.12 billion investment plan.
The expansion is closely linked to the free market and self-generation schemes for large consumers. Dow, Aegea, and Sabesp appear to be associated with the energy from the two complexes that have already begun operations.
“The start of commercial operation of these projects consolidates a decisive milestone in the expansion of clean energy in Mato Grosso do Sul and accelerates the national energy transition,” said Thiago Rezende, Director of Implementation and Operation and Maintenance at Casa dos Ventos .

The executive added that the company seeks to transform renewable potential “into a large-scale portfolio that drives decarbonization, strengthens energy security and leads the construction of a sustainable and prosperous future for Brazil.”
Of the 891 MW added, 400 MW correspond to the Seriemas Solar Complex , located in the municipality of Paranaíba.
The installation required approximately R$ 1.4 billion and occupies an area of 940 hectares, over which 889,200 photovoltaic modules are distributed.
Its production is structured through a self-production model associated with corporate contracts with the multinational chemical company Dow and the sanitation company Aegea .
The second asset offers an even greater scale. The Rio Brilhante Solar Complex has a capacity of 491 MW and is located in Campo Grande, in an area bordering Nova Alvorada do Sul.
Casa dos Ventos invested R$ 1.6 billion in its construction. The park covers approximately 1,100 hectares and has 1,105,920 solar panels .
In this case, all the energy generated will be destined for Sabesp under a self-production scheme, directly linking new renewable capacity with the demand of one of the country's largest consumers.
Between the two developments, almost 2 million photovoltaic modules were installed and 891 MW were added to the National Interconnected System (SIN).
Another 640 MW to complete the target by 2027
The launch of Seriemas and Rio Brilhante represents a first stage within a larger-scale deployment in Mato Grosso do Sul.
With 891 MW already operational and a goal of 1531 MW , the plan presented by Casa dos Ventos involves incorporating approximately another 640 MW of solar power to reach the target set for 2027.
In terms of investment, the R$ 3 billion disbursed in the two complexes are part of a regional program budgeted at R$ 5.12 billion .
The strategy seeks to respond to the demand for long-term electricity contracts and, especially, to the growth of self-production models within the Brazilian free market.
For Casa dos Ventos, this approach allows them to link the construction of large renewable energy projects with corporate consumers seeking to secure electricity supply and advance their decarbonization strategies.
With Seriemas and Rio Brilhante in commercial operation, the company already has about 58% of the 1531 MW of photovoltaic capacity planned in Mato Grosso do Sul in operation.
The next step will be to complete the remaining approximately 640 MW and execute the rest of the investment program to achieve a solar power hub exceeding 1.5 GW in the state by 2027.
