After five years marked by intense international expansion, Ecoener is embarking on a new phase of development. The Spanish renewable energy company will now seek to capitalize on its investments, improve the profitability of its assets, and strengthen cash flow generation, as announced by its president, Luis de Valdivia , during the Annual General Meeting of Shareholders held in A Coruña.
“We have completed a phase of strong expansion and investment, building a solid, diversified international platform with high long-term revenue visibility. Now we are beginning a new phase focused on growth, profitability, and cash generation,” the executive stated.
The company's transformation since its IPO in 2021 has been significant. In just five years, Ecoener increased its operational and construction capacity to 815 MW, multiplying its volume sixfold since its stock market debut. Simultaneously, it achieved revenues of €85 million in 2025, more than double what it was five years ago, with 63% coming from international businesses and an EBITDA margin of 50%.
Long-term contracts and revenue visibility
One of the company's main assets for this new stage is the stability of its future cash flows.

Ecoener currently has PPAs representing approximately $3 billion in projected revenue. The company has already contracted over 880 MW under this scheme , with an average duration of 18 years.
The recent awarding of new contracts in the largest electricity auction held in Guatemala further strengthened this position, consolidating a strategy based on recurring revenues and financial predictability.
“The commissioning of the assets developed in recent years will boost results and mark this new phase of growth,” said De Valdivia.
Europe, the OECD, and ready-to-build projects
Looking ahead, Ecoener will focus its expansion on markets with stable regulatory frameworks, primarily within the European Union and OECD countries, while maintaining its presence in Latin America.
The company already has a portfolio of 372 MW that it expects to bring to the ready-to-build phase in the short term, with developments located in Romania, Colombia and Guatemala.

In addition, the group is analyzing different alternatives to optimize its financial structure and support the next stage of growth.
“We consider it key to continue strengthening the company’s financial structure, always under criteria of value creation and taking advantage of appropriate market conditions,” the president explained.
Warehousing gains strategic importance
Among the technologies that will shape Ecoener's future, energy storage is playing an increasingly important role.
The company believes that batteries will be essential to meet the new needs of electrical systems, especially in markets with increasing penetration of renewable energy.
“We are making progress in developing storage solutions because we believe they will be essential to achieving more efficient, flexible, and stable networks,” De Valdivia said.
Ecoener is currently developing energy storage projects in the Dominican Republic and the Canary Islands with a total capacity of 177 MWh. Furthermore, three of the projects scheduled for construction in 2026 will incorporate integrated BESS systems.
The investment also extends to the hydroelectric business. The company recently secured €8.4 million from Next Generation funds to modernize its assets in Galicia and incorporate storage technologies that will optimize its operations.
A new stage for capturing value
With a diversified international portfolio, secured long-term contracts, and new projects nearing construction, Ecoener now seeks to move from a stage of accelerated growth to one focused on monetizing its assets and improving its financial indicators.
Along this path, storage, hybrid projects, and selective expansion in stable markets emerge as the main pillars of a strategy aimed at combining growth with profitability.
