EDP accelerates its renewable expansion in Spain with the commissioning of two new wind farms in Burgos , which add 130.5 MW of power to the electrical system and mark a new milestone for the company: the commissioning of its largest wind farm in the country.
These are the Isar Yudego and Ubierna projects, which bring together 29 wind turbines and will reach an estimated joint production of 360 GWh per year , equivalent to the electricity consumption of approximately 100,000 homes.
The main development is Isar Yudego, which becomes EDP's largest wind farm in Spain , with an installed capacity of 85.5 MW distributed across 19 wind turbines. The facility is expected to generate 238 GWh per year, enough to meet the energy needs of 65,000 homes.
For its part, Ubierna contributes another 45 MW through 10 turbines , with a projected production of 122 GWh per year, equivalent to the consumption of 35,000 homes.

The addition of both facilities strengthens EDP's renewable generation portfolio in the Iberian Peninsula, in a context where the diversification of the energy mix and security of supply are becoming increasingly important.
In addition to the increase in installed capacity, the company highlights the economic and environmental impact of the developments. Collectively, they will prevent approximately 38,000 tons of CO₂ emissions per year , according to estimates released by the energy company.

During the construction and commissioning phases , nearly 600 jobs were created, while more than 100 companies participated at each site, boosting economic activity linked to the deployment of renewable infrastructure.
EDP calls for regulatory stability to accelerate new renewable investments
After the projects came online, the company focused on the conditions necessary to support the development of new clean energy generation facilities.
In particular, EDP considers it essential to have a stable, predictable and long-term regulatory framework , accompanied by greater coordination between public administrations, companies and society.
The energy company links these conditions to the sector's ability to materialize investments, advance the electrification of the economy, and strengthen Europe's energy independence.
In this scenario, the commissioning of Isar Yudego and Ubierna represents a new step forward in the company's renewable growth strategy, which seeks to expand its generation capacity and contribute to a more diversified, competitive and secure electricity system.
With more than 130 MW already operational, EDP is strengthening its presence in the Spanish wind power market , while insisting on the need to guarantee regulatory certainty to facilitate the development of new projects.
