As it is in the final stages of energizing the 34 subfields of the Atlántico photovoltaic project, which is currently in the testing phase, Enel Colombia has reached more than 1 GW of installed solar capacity in alternating current (AC) through its six centrally dispatched solar parks, thus maintaining its leadership as the largest generator through this clean energy source.
With its six large-scale solar parks, five of which are already in commercial operation, Enel accounts for more than 50% of Colombia's total solar capacity, demonstrating the company's strong commitment to the energy transition and the diversification of the country's energy mix. Now, months before a predicted high-intensity El Niño event, the complementary nature of these parks will provide Colombia with additional alternatives to hydroelectric and thermal power generation.
The Company's solar portfolio in operation and under construction consists of the following projects:
- El Paso (68 MWac), the first large-scale solar plant built in the territory
- La Loma (150 MWac), both in Cesar
- Foundation (100 MWac), in Magdalena
- Guayepo I & II (370 MWac), the largest PV plant in the country located in Atlántico
Furthermore, together with Guayepo III (180 MWac), and Atlántico (180 MWac), in the final stage of construction and whose declaration of commercial operation is estimated for the second half of 2026, they consolidate the department as the most important photovoltaic generation cluster in Colombia.

Together these plants could supply more than 4.2 million people, roughly equivalent to serving the entire cities of Medellín and Cali at the same time.
