On May 21st , the Esperanza Wind Farm and the Esperanza 2 Solar Park were inaugurated . These projects were also awarded the first renewable energy tender backed by storage systems, recently launched in the country. This milestone represents a significant step forward in strengthening the security, resilience, and flexibility of the national energy system.
The project is led by EGE Haina, one of the main promoters of renewable energy in the Dominican Republic, whose portfolio exceeds 500 MW of installed capacity, equivalent to about 42% of the country's renewable capacity.
“LONGi demonstrated a high level of technical rigor and professionalism throughout the entire process. The photovoltaic modules used in the Esperanza 2 Solar Park are among the most efficient currently available on the market and will contribute to a more resilient and sustainable energy mix,” said Ricardo Estévez, Senior Development Director of EGE Haina.
Based on LONGi's HPBC 2.0 technology, optimized and validated under real-world operating conditions, the Hi-MO 9 modules offer high conversion efficiency, superior low-light performance, outstanding shading resistance, excellent temperature tolerance, and reliable bifacial power gain. Thanks to their high adaptability to tropical climates and coastal environments, characterized by high temperatures, high humidity, and demanding environmental conditions, the modules guarantee stable power generation, high energy output, and long-term operational reliability in hybrid wind-solar projects throughout their entire lifespan.

The adoption of the Hi-MO 9 solution in the Esperanza Renovable project further confirms the technical maturity, operational stability, and commercial bankability of LONGi's Back-Contact technology in hybrid renewable energy applications worldwide. It also reinforces the company's leading position in the large-scale photovoltaic and hybrid wind-solar systems segments in Latin America.
Between 2023 and the end of 2026, cumulative global shipments of LONGi's BC modules are expected to approach 100 GW. "BC technology is no longer a niche technology; it has fully entered the era of mass production and large-scale deployment."
Looking ahead, LONGi will continue to offer high-efficiency and reliable photovoltaic products, as well as energy solutions tailored to each scenario, driving the transformation towards a low-carbon economy and the development of sustainable energy in Latin America and emerging markets worldwide.
