Future Energy Summit (FES) Brazil will bring together CEOs, investors, developers and technology providers on November 5 at the InterContinental São Paulo hotel to analyze the opportunities in the Brazilian electricity market.
With more than 20 confirmed speakers , the meeting will mark the closing of FES's 2026 international tour, in the lead-up to a storage tender that registered unprecedented interest in the country.

The first stand-alone battery auction accounted for 296 GW of registered projects , although contracting forecasts range between 2 and 5 GW, equivalent to 8 and 20 GWh .

The systems must exceed 30 MW, guarantee four hours of storage, and begin supply on August 1, 2028, under 15-year contracts. FES Brasil will be held less than a month after the tender and a few days after the eligible projects are announced.
Among the participants of FES Brazil are Elbia Gannoum, CEO of ABEEólica; Fábio Lima, executive director of ABSAE; Eduardo Azevedo, vice president of centralized generation at ABSOLAR; and Alexei Macorin Vivan, president director of ABCE , who will be part of a meeting that includes the main associations of the sector and representatives of the business field.
Also attending will be Aurelio Bustilho de Oliveira, CEO of Órigo Energia; Luiz Fernando Leone Vianna, Vice President of Grupo Delta Energia; André Moreira, CEO of Argo Energía; Guilherme Melo, Construction Director of Statkraft Brasil; Lucas Sanchez, Renewables Director of CTG Brasil; Mayara Miqueletti, Head of Business Development at Acciona Energia; and Itamar Lessa, Marketing Director of Casa dos Ventos .

The agenda will include the public sector and energy partnerships landscape, the vision of business leaders, the perspectives of investors and developers, the operation and maintenance of renewable assets, hybrid projects, and sustainable finance.
The BESS segment will feature Adauto Otto, Senior Key Account Manager Utility-Scale & C&I & BESS of CATL; Luis Roberto Valer, CTO of Huawei Digital Power; Bruno Mininel, Sales Manager Brazil at Jinko ESS; Rafael Pagliarini Nascimento, Senior Sales Manager at Kehua Tech; and Thiago Canal, C&I Energy Storage Sales Manager at Dyness .
Pedro Mecabô, Business Development Manager of 360Energy , will join the discussion in an edition where storage will take center stage due to the need to incorporate flexibility, reduce operational restrictions and manage the increased share of variable generation.
Financing, standards and certifications for sustainable investments will also be featured at FES Brazil, with Guilherme Alice, CEO of CIFI/Finenge; Ana Fontes, IFC's Infrastructure Representative for Latin America and the Caribbean; and Marcelo Santos, E&P Risk Consulting Project Leader at Marsh Risk .

When will FES Brazil take place?
In addition to the aforementioned storage auction, the Ministry of Mines and Energy (MME) established an estimated schedule of tenders for 2027-2029 that includes a Capacity Reserve auction in the form of Power (LRCAP) during the second half of each year, with batteries among the technologies that may be considered.
Furthermore, capacity reserve contracts for hydroelectric plants up to 50 MW and isolated systems are planned for the first half of 2027, followed by the LRCAP (Local Revenue and Capacity Reserve Contract) and tenders for new and existing energy. This process will be repeated in 2028 and 2029, with another tender for isolated systems planned for the latter year.
In parallel, Brazil reached 74.3 GW of installed solar power , equivalent to 27.4% of an electricity matrix of 270.81 GW , divided into 51.69 GW under distributed generation and 22.62 GW by large photovoltaic plants.
The growth in renewable capacity also exacerbated the curtailment. During the first quarter of 2026, cuts reached 17.2% of solar and wind generation , compared to 15.3% in the same period of 2025, with implications for project revenues and new investment planning.

Offshore wind power constitutes another front of expansion, given that there are 96 initiatives for 234 GW registered with IBAMA, awaiting what may happen with future concessions in the country's jurisdictional sea.
And while the political scenario adds a variable for investors after the presidential runoff in which it was confirmed that Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva Bolsonaro will remain in government, in the medium term, the Ten-Year Energy Expansion Plan (PDE) 2036 contemplates R$ 3.3 trillion in investments , along with 2 GW of reversible hydroelectric plants and 4 GW of demand response.
Official projections place the share of solar and wind power at approximately one-third of electricity generation by 2036 , compared to the 28.1% projected for 2026, while renewable sources would maintain a share close to 90% of the energy mix.
Networking to finalize new projects
The discussions will cover seven areas encompassing the institutional vision, business strategies, innovation, storage, opportunities for investors and developers, solar, wind and hybrid projects, and financing instruments.
The day will also feature networking spaces among hundreds of company representatives , one of the characteristics of Future Energy Summit, where developers, manufacturers, financial entities and business leaders establish business contacts and advance agreements related to the energy transition.
FES Brazil will close the 2026 Future Energy Summit tour , one of the leading events in the renewable energy sector in Latin America, with the participation of leading companies and top-level institutional representatives.
The event will take place on November 5th at the InterContinental São Paulo Hotel. Tickets and more information are available on the official event website .
