A market that is once again opening up space for new investments
The meeting takes place at a time when Colombia is beginning to accumulate new signs for its next stage of energy expansion.
The recent contracting of 995 MW of solar power and nearly 100 MW of storage capacity revived the utility scale segment and brought the continuation of new award processes back into discussion.
Some of the bids went unsigned, and several companies have projects ready to compete. The sector is now closely watching future calls for tenders that could improve conditions for batteries, time blocks, and developments capable of supplying energy outside of peak photovoltaic generation hours.
In parallel, the Reliability Charge auction awarded approximately 1.8 GW of new renewable capacity , with contracts of up to 20 years, incorporating new signals for generation, backup and availability in critical periods.
The Energy and Gas Regulatory Commission (CREG) is also working on a new stage of Firm Energy Obligation allocation, with a plan that includes an administered auction for 2027-2028 and a possible expansion auction for 2030-2031.
In that context, FES Colombia is currently bringing together in Bogotá a large part of the actors called upon to execute the next energy investment cycle in the country.
The meeting is positioned as the most important event in Latin America for the renewable energy sector, with the participation of leading companies, top-level executives and institutional leaders.
In addition to the technical agenda, the Future Energy Summit offers networking opportunities, where hundreds of business representatives gather to advance commercial relationships, agreements and contracts related to new projects and the regional energy transition.
