The event will begin with strong institutional support: the opening address will be given by Víctor Hugo Ventura, Guatemala's Minister of Energy and Mines , a sign of the importance of this first edition at a time when the country is redefining its energy planning. Juan Fernando Castro Martínez, Vice Minister of Energy , will also have a prominent role, contributing to an agenda where public and private perspectives will converge on the sector's upcoming challenges.

And the context could not be more timely, as Guatemala is undergoing a profound transformation of its electricity market following the recent PEG-5 tender, a process that awarded 1258 MW in 57 projects and marked a concrete shift in the expansion of the system.
Under this process, more than 73% of the awarded capacity corresponds to renewable technologies , while solar energy with storage leads with 671 MW , confirming the progress of hybrid models with increasing prominence in the energy matrix.

The market message is clear: storage, operational flexibility, renewable integration, and new investment structures are now part of the sector's strategic conversation. These will be some of the key themes that will dominate the debate at FES Guatemala.
One of the most anticipated panels will be “Solar Energy and Storage: PEG-5 vector of transformation of the energy sector of Central America” , where representatives from INVESA, Sungrow, CATL and Huawei will analyze how this process can accelerate the technological evolution of the regional market.
The agenda will also include high-level discussions on the 2030 energy target for Central America, distributed generation, self-consumption, storage, technological innovation, solar competitiveness, critical infrastructure, and financial structuring of renewable projects.
