After a delay of almost two weeks from the date stipulated in the bidding terms and conditions, the National Energy Secretariat signed the award for the renewable energy and storage tender known as RenMDI. Energía Estratégica obtained the resolution before its publication in the Official Gazette of the Argentine Republic and below reveals the likely winners of the first renewable energy call for bids in over five years since the last round of the RenovAr Program. Line 1, aimed at replacing forced generation, will ultimately have 46 projects awarded, totaling 514.08 MW across the six regions, distributed among 18 companies. The average price for this section of the auction remained at USD 73.826/MWh. This means the 500 MW limit will be exceeded, as the bidding terms allowed for an increase of up to 20% in the power required per delivery point and/or corridor/grid established in Annex 3. As this news site anticipated weeks ago, Energías Renovables Las Lomas SAU and Coral Consultoría would be the two largest winners in this first segment, submitting 11 and 8 proposals each, for 127 MW and 110 MW of capacity, respectively. Further down the list were 360Energy (3 parks totaling 51.5 MW), Windearth Patagonia (3 solar plants totaling 49.52 MW), Parque Eólico Arauco (3 projects totaling 23 MW), Genneia (2 PV plants totaling 40 MW), and Industrias Juan F.
Secco (2 photovoltaic bids for 27 MW), among other entities. SEE DETAILS OF AWARD LINE #1. Furthermore, the National Energy Secretariat confirmed the awarding of 52 projects totaling 119.6 MW out of the 120 MW available in the RenMDI tender segment aimed at diversifying the energy matrix. This means that the majority of bids submitted in line #2 were successful (only 5 plants submitted in that segment were excluded), along with 5 bioenergy plants, which, since they were not awarded in line #1, were eligible to compete in this second segment. The average value of these renewable energy projects is USD 153,817 MWh, distributed as follows:
- Biogas: 24 plants 29.86 MW - USD 186.02 MWh
- Biomass: 7 parks 39 MW - USD 144,204 MWh
- RSU: 2 plants 13.2 MW - USD 157.5 MWh
- PAH: 19 projects - 37.51 MW - USD 116,234 MWh
