Genneia , the company with the largest installed renewable capacity in Argentina , announced the start of commercial operation of the last stage of the San Rafael Solar Park, in the province of Mendoza , thus reaching its design power of 180 MW.
The project required an investment of USD 180 million and is positioned as a key piece to supply the growing corporate demand for clean energy through long-term contracts in the Renewable Energy Term Market (MATER).
With this milestone, the company's investments in Mendoza exceed USD 430 million, distributed across three operational solar assets with a total capacity of 450 MW. This offering is aimed at large industrial users and mining projects that require competitive, emission-free energy to meet international sustainability standards.
Located on a 500-hectare site in the 25 de Mayo district, the park incorporates 400,000 high-efficiency bifacial solar modules. The complex will produce more than 500,000 MWh annually (equivalent to the consumption of 135,000 homes), preventing the emission of 230,000 tons of CO₂ per year. The construction phase required a workforce of more than 300 people at its peak.

"The full operation of a new solar park in Mendoza reflects the energy transition that the province is effectively undertaking, with planning that arises from the synergy between the regulator's vision, along with the investment and efficiency of the sector," stated Jimena Latorre , Minister of Energy and Environment of Mendoza, adding that this milestone "reaffirms Mendoza's position as a model province in renewable energy."
Bernardo Andrews , CEO of Genneia, highlighted the project's commercial focus: "The commercial commissioning of San Rafael confirms our capacity for large-scale execution. This asset will supply efficient energy to Argentine industry, with a special focus on the region's mining sector, which demands efficient and competitive energy supply solutions while offering decarbonization of consumption to enable its operations in global markets."
