The Association of Independent Energy Generators (GIE AG) held its 2026 General Assembly of Members, an event in which it renewed part of its Board of Directors and reviewed the management of the last period.
Currently, GIE brings together 21 generation and storage companies with a presence in all 16 regions of the country, consolidating itself as the main organization representing independent energy generators in Chile.
“During this period we expanded our representation, practically doubling our members, thus consolidating a trade association that seeks to promote competition in a sector that is rapidly advancing in Chile’s energy transition,” said Carolina Galleguillos , president of GIE and LATAM general manager of Verano Energy.
"Our challenge now will be to continue strengthening that role, contributing a technical, independent and proactive perspective to the conversations that will define the future of the electricity system," he added.
For his part, GIE's executive director, Mauricio Utreras , emphasized that the association will continue to strengthen its work of representing and supporting member companies in regulatory, technical, and legislative matters.
"Being an association exclusively of generators and technologically neutral allows us to build positions independently, always putting at the center the necessary conditions to invest and compete," he stated.
Following the election, the new Board of Directors was composed of Carolina Galleguillos (Verano Energy), president; Tomás Schröter (Espinos), vice president; Fernando Montaño (Enlasa), secretary; Rodrigo Urzúa (EnorChile), treasurer; and directors Verónica Bustos Vial (EnfraGen Chile), Miguel Salazar (Carbomet Energía) and Matthieu Barbe (Langa International).
