Goldwind and Casa dos Ventos signed the final contract for the 872 MW Sento Sé wind farm , the largest wind power order associated with a single project in Brazil.
The development will be located in the north of the state of Bahia and will have 109 GWH182-8.0MW wind turbines , each with a nominal power of 8 MW.
The scope of the agreement extends beyond the supply of equipment. Goldwind will also be responsible for the transport, installation, and commissioning of the wind turbines , as well as providing comprehensive operation and maintenance services for 30 years once the wind farm is operational.
The contract covers the entire main wind capacity of the project and consolidates a contractual chain that ranges from the supply of the units to their long-term operation.

Once operational, Sento Sé would have an estimated generation of around 4.5 million MWh per year and would avoid about 920,000 tons of CO₂ per year , according to projections communicated by the companies.
“We are delighted to enter into this strategic partnership with Goldwind to jointly execute the Sento Sé wind project,” said Lucas Araripe , CEO of Casa dos Ventos.
The executive added that some of the electricity generated will supply opportunities related to data centers that the company is developing in Brazil , adding a new vector of demand for renewable generation.
From Goldwind, Wang Hai , Vice President of Business for the group, highlighted that Sento Sé represents a strategic initiative for the company and underlined the responsibility associated with a contract of this scale.
The project will use the GWH182 platform, designed to operate in high wind speed conditions and with a long service life.
In addition to the wind turbines, the project will require parallel progress on foundation works, internal collection lines, lifting and transmission infrastructure, and the rest of the systems necessary to integrate the 872 MW into the grid.
A contract that extends the relationship to the operation of the park.
The agreement signed on September 10th establishes a Goldwind stake that will extend far beyond construction.
The company will not only deliver the equipment, but will remain linked to the asset for three decades through the operation and maintenance contract.
For Goldwind, the contract also consolidates its presence in Latin America, where it has accumulated more than 15 years of activity and more than 3 GW of installed capacity .
With 109 turbines and 872 MW concentrated in a single development, Sento Sé raises the scale of wind power contracts in Brazil and also sets a signal about the size that new projects associated with large consumers are beginning to reach.
