The growth of renewable energy, the electrification of various productive sectors, and the development of new technologies present an opportunity for Mexico to move toward a smarter, more flexible, and more resilient energy infrastructure. In this context, Huawei Digital Power launched FusionSolar 9.0 in the country, the next generation of its photovoltaic (PV) and energy storage system (ESS) solutions.
The new generation seeks to support companies and industries in the evolution of how they produce, store and manage their energy, integrating solar generation, storage, control, digitization and artificial intelligence into a single architecture.
“Mexico is one of the most promising and dynamic markets in the global transition to new energy. We have a great opportunity to accelerate the adoption of technologies that allow us to make better use of energy resources and build a smarter, cleaner, and more resilient infrastructure. We want to continue working with our partners and customers to contribute to that energy future for Mexico,” said Zhou Bo, CEO of Huawei Digital Power Mexico.

One of the main focuses of FusionSolar 9.0 is the incorporation of AI-based analysis and management capabilities. Using operational data from each plant, the technology identifies anomalies, facilitates event diagnosis, and supports the optimization of its operation.
In the event of network interruptions, disconnections, or fluctuations, these tools provide information to expedite operational response and reduce downtime, strengthening the facility's ability to adapt to electrical system conditions.
“We are entering a stage where generating renewable energy is only one part of the equation. The opportunity lies in being able to store, manage, and use it in increasingly intelligent ways. The combination of solar energy, storage, digitalization, and artificial intelligence allows us to move toward more efficient systems capable of responding to the needs of each operation,” said Manuel Macías, Business Developer at Huawei Digital Power.
FusionSolar 9.0 brings together tools to monitor plant performance, coordinate their response to grid variations, convert solar energy, and manage storage. Its architecture incorporates the SmartPVMS Plant management platform, the SmartACU2000F and SPPC2000-A01/A02 control systems, the SUN2000-506KTL inverter, and the LUTERRA-6261 storage platform.

Storage represents another pillar of this new generation. LUTERRA-6261, with an approximate capacity of 6.2 megawatt-hours (MWh), is geared towards projects that require greater flexibility and responsiveness to electrical grid conditions.
The integration of these systems allows for more flexible management of generated energy and strengthens the responsiveness of the facilities. Before each implementation, Huawei conducts analyses and simulations to define configurations according to the characteristics of each project and applicable regulations.
The shift towards this type of infrastructure also requires greater integration between generation, storage, and the electrical grid. Power plants must interact seamlessly with grid operators, respond dynamically to system conditions, and operate in accordance with applicable regulations, including the Grid Code.
“These innovations are not only relevant for companies or decision-makers. Having more efficient, secure, and resilient equipment in the face of network variations impacts the entire production chain and, ultimately, the way the consumer receives a product or service,” Macías added.
Huawei has had a presence in Mexico since 2001 and has over a decade of experience operating in the renewable energy sector. The company has developed projects and collaborations with companies such as KINO, LONGi, and Solar-LIT. Furthermore, one of its three global technical support centers is located in Querétaro to serve the needs of its customers and partners.
With FusionSolar 9.0, Huawei Digital Power seeks to capitalize on the opportunity presented by the country's energy evolution to move towards a model in which solar generation, storage, digital management and artificial intelligence function as an integrated system, capable of supporting the new energy needs of companies and contributing to the development of a smarter and more sustainable infrastructure in Mexico.
