Huawei successfully participated in the Future Energy Summit Mexico 2026, one of the most important energy sector events in Latin America, where it presented its vision for the future of digital energy and smart storage through the new FusionSolar 9.0 solution.
Huawei's participation was led by Ulises Alcázar Hernández , Solution Manager of Huawei Digital Power Mexico, who was part of the specialized panel on energy storage and later presented a keynote focused on technological innovation, security and grid stability for photovoltaic and BESS projects.
A market that is evolving towards security and certainty
During the opening panel, “Mexico Redefines the Game for Solar+BESS: Interconnection, Social Impact, and Reliability as Key Drivers of Development,” Ulises Alcázar highlighted how the energy market has evolved in recent years. He explained that developers and investors are no longer focusing solely on price and technology, but also on key factors such as:

- financial certainty,
- regulatory stability,
- operational safety,
- and long-term reliability.
He also emphasized that safety has become one of the most important issues within the energy storage industry, especially in utility-scale and commercial and industrial (C&I) projects.
In this context, he highlighted the importance of working with factory-integrated solutions, with intelligent monitoring, specialized support, and advanced digitization and control capabilities.
FusionSolar 9.0: a new generation of smart solutions
As part of its keynote, Huawei officially unveiled FusionSolar 9.0, a platform designed to optimize the performance of solar power plants and storage systems throughout the entire project lifecycle.
The solution incorporates new capabilities in:
- digitization,
- automation,
- intelligent monitoring,
- and advanced energy management.
FusionSolar 9.0 seeks to maximize operational efficiency, improve energy performance, and simplify technology integration in large-scale projects.
One of the most relevant announcements was the launch of the new 506 kW Smart String inverter, developed to support higher capacity architectures and allow for better energy utilization in photovoltaic power plants.
Furthermore, the new architecture reduces on-site components and optimizes installation and operating costs, providing a more flexible and efficient solution for today's energy market.
Grid Forming: stability for the electrical grid of the future
Huawei also presented its Grid Forming technology, an innovation that allows photovoltaic plants and storage systems to actively contribute to the stability of the electrical grid.
This technology offers advanced capabilities to respond to electrical disturbances, improve system stability, and facilitate greater integration of renewable energy.
Ulises Alcázar emphasized that these types of solutions will be fundamental to accelerating the energy transition and strengthening increasingly digitized and complex electrical networks.
Huawei strengthens its presence in Mexico
As part of the presentation, Huawei highlighted its history in Mexico since 2001 and its growth within the national energy sector.
Currently, the company has:
- More than 2.8 GW of photovoltaic capacity installed in Mexico,
- more than 300 MWh in energy storage projects,
- specialized technical support centers,
- and a solid local engineering and after-sales service structure.
With FusionSolar 9.0, Huawei reaffirms its commitment to developing more efficient, safe, and sustainable energy solutions, driving the digital transformation of the energy sector in Mexico and Latin America.
