Mexico City became the epicenter of the national energy sector with the Energy and Innovation Fair, an event organized by the Ministry of Energy (SENER) and held at the National Museum of Energy and Technology (MUNET). In this strategic setting, Huawei Digital Power played a prominent role, reaffirming its commitment to technological development and the country's energy transition through the official launch of its latest innovation: the LUNA2000-241 2S1 Balanced Energy Storage System (BESS) for the commercial and industrial (C&I) sector.
A vibrant meeting point for technological innovation
The event was distinguished by an unprecedented atmosphere of collaboration and enthusiasm, with Huawei's booth positioning itself as a key hub for technical innovation. Professionals, students, and decision-makers from across the country gathered to learn firsthand about the technology company's ecosystem of solutions, ranging from its advanced line of inverters to utility-scale and C&I energy storage technologies. Active participation and knowledge sharing demonstrated a dynamic sector committed to adopting tools that ensure a stable energy transition with full technological sovereignty.
Strategic dialogue between SENER and Huawei Mexico
In this context of innovation, the technology firm's booth was visited by Ms. Luz Elena González Escobar , Head of the Ministry of Energy (SENER). The Secretary held a high-level meeting with Mr. Liu Jiude , CEO of Huawei Mexico, where they discussed the role of technology in the security of the national electricity system.
This dialogue reaffirmed the importance of state leadership in conjunction with private sector innovation. Both parties fully agreed with SENER's vision that energy modernization must be an orderly and equitable process, focused above all on social benefit and Mexico's technological independence.

Official launch of the LUNA2000-241kWh: The new standard in C&I storage
The highlight of the day was the launch of the BESS LUNA2000-241kWh energy storage solution (LUNA2000-241 2S1). During the technical sessions, Manuel Alejandro Macías Cervantes, Utility Business Development Manager at Huawei Digital Power, explained the revolutionary capabilities of this cutting-edge technology in detail to the attendees.
The new BESS captured the attention of the trade fair by introducing key technological milestones for the commercial and industrial market:
- World's first hybrid cooling system: Integrates active and passive cooling methods to optimally regulate cell temperature, extending their lifespan and ensuring stable operation under extreme conditions.
- Radical thermal efficiency: Thanks to its advanced Thermal Router technology, the system adapts to environmental conditions and achieves a 30% reduction in cooling energy consumption .
- Maximum energy performance: Offers an expanded capacity of 241 kWh with a cycle efficiency of 91.3% , minimizing losses and maximizing the use of stored energy, complemented by automatic SOC calibration for greater long-term reliability.
- C2C Dual-Link Security Architecture: Ensures comprehensive protection from the cell level to the system level. Its electrical link prevents short circuits through multi-level isolation, while its thermal link implements active protection that suppresses thermal runaway to safeguard assets, property, and personnel.
Towards a comprehensive energy transformation
With this launch, Huawei Digital Power aims to solidify its position as a strategic facilitator of the energy transformation, integrating digital and power electronics technologies to create more efficient ecosystems. The company's shared vision is to be the technological partner that enables Mexico to achieve its sustainability and energy security goals, committed to working collaboratively with the Mexican government and sector institutions to ensure that innovation drives a prosperous, clean, and technologically independent national development.
