IGNIS has successfully completed the sale of a 656 MW portfolio of renewable energy projects in Italy to the flyRen group, which is backed by the British fund Foresight Energy Infrastructure Partners II. The transaction comprises 28 projects at various stages of development, located in different regions of the country, and includes photovoltaic, battery hybrid, and wind power assets.
The transaction marks the culmination of several years of work by IGNIS's teams in Italy, encompassing local development, land management, administrative procedures, and technical structuring. It demonstrates their ability to create value through the development of large-scale renewable energy platforms. ValeCap acted as the seller's financial advisor, while Green Horse Legal Advisory and DWF served as legal advisors. The sale aligns with the company's asset rotation strategy and will enable it to continue pursuing new growth opportunities in Italy, which remains one of its strategic markets.

IGNIS is working on new generation and storage opportunities in various regions of Italy. This activity is complemented by the development of a portfolio of large-scale data center projects in different locations, in response to the growing electricity demand associated with the digitalization of the economy. In the coming years, the company will strengthen its presence in the country, expanding its team and operations from renewable energy development to an integrated model that combines generation, grid access, storage, and energy solutions for large consumers.
“We have developed a portfolio of large-scale projects over several years, and this transaction allows us to capitalize on that work while continuing to grow in the country. Italy is a strategic market for IGNIS, both in renewables and in new energy infrastructure and data centers. The combination of our experience in renewable energy development with our ability to identify and develop solutions for large consumers puts us in a unique position to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Italian market,” says Mafalda Palacios de A. e A., head of IGNIS in Italy.
