Intersolar Mexico inaugurated its seventh edition at Centro Banamex, with the participation of authorities and representatives from the leading organizations in the solar and energy industry. For three days, the event will bring together companies, specialists, developers, integrators, investors, academics, and decision-makers to learn about the technologies and discussions that will shape the next stage of the Mexican solar market.
In conjunction with Aquatech Mexico, the event is expected to draw over 300 exhibitors and 10,000 visitors. The exhibition floor will allow attendees to compare solutions, speak directly with manufacturers and suppliers, and evaluate applications for residential, commercial, industrial, and large-scale projects.
The opening ceremony was attended by Senator Olga Patricia Sosa Ruiz , Secretary of the Energy Commission of the Senate of the Republic; Dr. Mariano Birlain , Director General of Technological Development and Access to Energy at the Ministry of Energy (SENER); Ms. Paola Félix Díaz , General Coordinator of Interinstitutional Relations and International Affairs at the National Water Commission (CONAGUA); His Excellency Mr. André Driessen , Ambassador of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Mexico; Mr. Volker Gutekunst , Economic Counselor at the Embassy of Germany in Mexico; Ms. Alina Escobar Mesa , Business Director of Informa Markets Mexico; Daan Burghouts , Global Director of Aquatech at RAI Amsterdam; and Dr. Florian Wessendorf , Managing Director of Solar Promotion International GmbH.
According to Florian Wessendorf, Managing Director of Solar Promotion International GmbH, the future of energy will not be built by a single company, technology, or institution. “Mexico isn’t waiting for the energy transition: it’s building it, and we’re here to build it together,” he emphasized.
“Intersolar Mexico is much more than an exhibition: it is the place where ideas meet investment, technologies meet business, and companies meet new partners to shape the country's energy future,” he added.
In her remarks, Senator Olga Patricia Sosa Ruiz reported that the goal for 2030 includes adding 32,000 megawatts of new capacity, 22,000 of which will come from renewable sources. Solar energy will be fundamental to this progress, as it is a clean, abundant, and readily available resource in our country.
“Mexico’s biggest challenge is not just producing more energy, but generating it efficiently, reliably, and affordably, with an increasing share of renewable sources. The country’s energy future must be cleaner, safer, more innovative, and more sustainable,” Sosa commented.
The seventh edition of Intersolar Mexico will connect technological innovation and solutions to the real needs of the industry on its exhibition floor. This edition will allow visitors to move from discussion to implementation: integrating storage, improving the quality of installations, modernizing infrastructure, and harnessing solar energy in more production processes.
TheInternational Congress features over 30 speakers from Mexico, Germany, Spain, Denmark, Colombia, and the United States, among other countries. On its first day, it registered an attendance of 280 people. Through 16 sessions, seven presentations, and nine panels, participants will analyze regulations, market opportunities, business models, and trends for industrial and service users. Women comprise 50% of the program, and for the first time, all sessions will offer simultaneous Spanish-English translation.

During the keynote address, Mariano Birlain, Director General of Technological Development and Access to Energy at the Ministry of Energy, highlighted that currently, 99.87% of the population has access to energy and the goal is to reach 99.99% by 2030. To achieve this, approximately 120,000 communities, mainly located in remote areas, still need to be served.
“We expect to add around 22,000 MW of renewable energy capacity, of which 14,000 MW could be solely from solar power. This expansion would be accompanied by approximately 5,500 MW of storage capacity.”
This edition will also feature the Innovation Forum , a free program of presentations from exhibiting companies and partner organizations, technical workshops, and networking activities. The sessions will provide direct access to innovations, applications, developments, and experiences relevant to the Mexican market.
Intersolar Mexico is backed by the most influential organizations in the energy sector. Its Premium Partners include the National Solar Energy Association (ANES), the Mexican Solar Energy Association (ASOLMEX), the German Solar Energy Association (BSW), and Heat Changers.
