Isagen agreed to sell a portfolio of hydroelectric and solar power generation assets totaling approximately 208 MW of installed capacity , in a transaction with EDF power solutions and BTG Pactual Commodities .
The agreement, signed on September 21, includes four hydroelectric power plants — El Popal, El Molino, San Miguel and San Matías — and five solar parks: Llanos I, Llanos II, Llanos III, Llanos IV and Llanos V.
The transaction was reported by Isagen to the Financial Superintendency of Colombia and is part of the capital rotation strategy that the company is carrying out to optimize the allocation of resources and sustain its growth plan.
The transaction is expected to close before the end of 2026, subject to the fulfillment of the obligations agreed upon by the parties, the required authorizations, and applicable regulatory approvals. Isagen did not disclose the financial value of the transaction.

An operation in parallel to renewable growth
The sale comes as Isagen continues to reshape its generation portfolio and allocate capital to new opportunities, particularly in renewable energy.
Among its recent moves are the acquisition of Puerta de Oro , a 300 MW solar project, and the incorporation of Bosques Solares de los Llanos 8 , a 170 MW nominal photovoltaic initiative located in Meta and awarded in the Reliability Charge 2029-2030 scheme.
In this context, the company is considering selling certain assets as part of a monetization and reinvestment scheme, seeking to free up resources for new investments in generation.
“The signing of this transaction represents a further step in our capital rotation strategy,” said Isagen, which linked the transaction to the optimization of its shareholders' resources and the continuity of its long-term investments in renewable generation.
With this transaction, EDF power solutions and BTG Pactual Commodities expand their exposure to generation assets in Colombia , while Isagen advances in a reorganization of its portfolio that combines divestments with the incorporation of new renewable projects.
