Aurora Energy Research will hold the first edition of the Aurora Summit on Energy Transition Madrid 2026 on June 3rd, an event that will bring together leading figures in the European energy sector in the Spanish capital to analyze the main challenges facing the energy transition in the south of the continent.
The event will bring together policymakers, network operators, utilities, investors and clean energy developers, with an agenda focused on electricity system flexibility, energy storage, hybrid assets, network operability and investment opportunities in energy infrastructure.
The event comes amid a period of strong renewable energy expansion in Spain. The Spanish photovoltaic market recently added more than 3,700 MW in the permitting process, distributed across 57 projects , reflecting the sector's dynamism, but also growing challenges related to grid capacity and the integration of new generation.
The summit will specifically address these bottlenecks. Discussions will focus on permitting delays, grid connection waiting lists, regulatory signals for investment, and operational limitations stemming from the advancement of renewable energy.

Aurora Energy Research, the event organizer, is one of Europe's largest providers of energy analysis. The company has a team of over 900 experts specializing in energy, finance, and consulting , focused on supporting the energy transition through market intelligence and strategic analysis.
