Mainstream Renewable Power announced that the Ckhúri wind farm received the certificate confirming the start of commercial operation (COD) from the National Electric Coordinator, which represents a key milestone in the supply of clean and renewable energy to Chile.
Located in Calama, in the Antofagasta Region, the 109.2 MW wind farm has 26 Vestas turbines and is expected to supply clean energy equivalent to the consumption of approximately 166,000 homes. The park provides energy, especially at night when solar generation decreases, thus reinforcing our contribution to the National Electric System and Chile's energy transition.
“This is a significant milestone for our company, made possible by the tremendous commitment of all Mainstream staff here in Chile. I want to especially thank our teams for this important step. This achievement truly reflects the hard work, resilience, and determination of a team committed to persevering, even under challenging conditions, to achieve the ultimate goal of successfully completing a key project for our company and for the development of renewable energy in Chile,” said Manuel Tagle , General Manager of Mainstream Renewable Power Chile.
Julie Berg , CEO of Mainstream Renewable Power, stated that “this milestone further strengthens our Andes Renewables platform in Chile, a diversified portfolio of wind and solar assets located from the north to the south of the country. With Ckhúri, Mainstream now has nine operating assets in Chile and a total installed capacity of 1222 MW.”

"I am proud of the work of the Mainstream Chile team and their continued contribution to the development of a cleaner and more sustainable energy matrix in the country," she added.
The Ckhúri wind farm is part of the Huemul Energía platform, which, together with Cóndor Energía, contributes 1.22 GW of renewable energy, reinforcing Mainstream's long-term presence in Chile.
