OHLA took a new step in its photovoltaic expansion in Spain with the laying of the first stone of the Casares Solar Park , a complex made up of three plants that will add up to nearly 100 MWp of power in the province of Malaga .
The project consists of Casares I, of 32 MWp; Casares II, of 34.25 MWp; and Casares III, of 31.5 MWp , and will be developed on an area of approximately 100 hectares .
The construction will have an execution period of 24 months from the signing of the contract and the issuance of the Notice to Proceed.
Once operational, the complex will contribute approximately 12% of the installed renewable power in the province of Malaga , reinforcing the clean generation capacity of Andalusia.

The formal start of construction comes after OHLA announced in February 2026 that it had awarded the contract for the three plants for a total of more than €38 million .
Casares I and Casares II were contracted by Technique Solaire , while Casares III will be developed for a Spanish-owned business group.
The project is also part of an expanding photovoltaic portfolio.
OHLA has accumulated just over 3000 MWp built during the last six years in Spain, Mexico and Chile, a figure that reinforces its positioning as an EPC contractor in solar projects.
More than 3000 MWp and new projects in the pipeline
The company had already indicated months ago that the new photovoltaic awards raised the total power developed by the group to over 3000 MW .
In addition to the three projects in Casares, OHLA was awarded another 212 MWp development in Valencia , with a contract value close to €65 million .
Taken together, those four awards represented a total investment of around €100 million .
The Valencian project is also shaping up to be one of the largest photovoltaic plants built by OHLA in Spain.
The expansion also has an international dimension.
In Latin America, the company manages approximately 600 MW and has participated in projects such as La Jacinta Solar, 65 MW in Uruguay; Aguascalientes, 40 MW, and Perote II, 120 MW, in Mexico; and La Huella, 87 MW, Coya, 200 MW, and the La Estrella wind farm, 50 MW, in Chile .
The growth of this portfolio also led OHLA to enter the Wiki-Solar international ranking of solar EPC contractors, where it currently holds the 33rd position worldwide .
According to the company, with the update of the projects executed during 2025 it could rank among the 30 largest solar EPC contractors in the world .
With Casares I, II and III already under construction, OHLA now adds another relevant block to its photovoltaic activity in Spain and consolidates a portfolio that combines large projects, international presence and an executed capacity of more than 3000 MWp.
