With an investment of USD 55 million , PCR has launched the expansion of the Mataco-San Jorge Wind Farm , located in the Tornquist district of Buenos Aires province. The project incorporated six new Vestas wind turbines with a unit capacity of 6.2 MW, adding 37.2 MW to the park. This brings Mataco-San Jorge's total installed capacity to 276.6 MW , solidifying its position as the wind farm complex with the largest installed capacity in Buenos Aires province and one of the country's leading renewable energy generation projects.
The new phase of the project obtained commercial authorization from CAMMESA to operate in the Wholesale Electricity Market (MEM), so the new wind turbines are already injecting energy into the Argentine Interconnection System (SADI), increasing the renewable generation capacity of the complex.
The expansion is part of the company's growth strategy in the renewable energy business and reaffirms its commitment to the development of long-term energy infrastructure, contributing to an increasingly diversified and sustainable energy mix.
With this expansion, the Mataco-San Jorge Wind Farm increases its contribution to the country's energy transition: it generates enough renewable energy to supply the consumption of more than 340,000 homes and avoids the emission of approximately 480,000 tons of CO₂ per year .

"The addition of this new capacity reflects PCR's ongoing commitment to the development of renewable energy and to the long-term investments that accompany the country's energy transition. This achievement is possible thanks to the work and dedication of a team that made it possible to carry out the project with the highest technical and operational standards," stated Ariel Costanzo, Director of Renewable Energy at PCR.
Currently, PCR operates four wind farms with a total installed capacity of 582 MW , including Argentina's first hybrid (wind-solar) wind farm. The company is also progressing with the construction of the Olavarría Wind Farm in partnership with ArcelorMittal Acindar, which will expand its renewable generation capacity by 185.6 MW and reaffirm its growth strategy in the sector. Through sustained investment, PCR continues to drive projects that contribute to the energy transition and the development of the communities where it operates.
