Next Tuesday, May 19, the Marriott Mexico City Reforma Hotel will host the third edition of the Future Energy Summit (FES) Mexico , at a particularly crucial moment for the national energy market. With new calls for proposals open for renewable energy and storage projects, official capacity expansion targets for 2030, and a renewed public-private partnership framework, the event is shaping up to be a key forum where the sector will analyze the evolving landscape.
With the event just days away, anticipation is focused on an agenda designed to address the main challenges and opportunities of the Mexican market, with a focus on storage, renewable integration, investment, technological criteria, and project execution. In a context where Mexico projects adding 32 GW of new electrical capacity by 2030 , primarily renewable, along with more than 6 GW of storage , the technical and executive discussions take on particular importance.
The market opportunity accelerated even further in recent weeks, as it was revealed that, finally, 56 projects driven by 40 companies are advancing in the call for mixed investment generation promoted by the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) to incorporate 7500 MW of capacity before 2030 , marking the first real filter of one of the processes carried out by the Mexican government.
And according to official information from the Ministry of Energy, the portfolio currently under evaluation exceeds 10 GW of generation capacity and 3 GW of storage , with estimated investments of 270 billion Mexican pesos (approximately USD 15.73 billion).

In addition, the Ministry of Energy (SENER) activated new calls for private projects , mixed schemes with the CFE , non-associated storage and strategic self-consumption projects.

In parallel, the requirement to incorporate batteries equivalent to 30% of the capacity in new renewable initiatives reinforces the leading role of storage in the new architecture of the electricity system.
In this scenario, FES Mexico will bring together business leaders, investors, developers, utilities, technology providers and institutional actors to discuss where the market is headed.
The agenda will include panels such as “Mexico redefines the game for solar + BESS: interconnection, social impact and reliability as the cornerstones of development”, “The new logic of the energy portfolio: opportunities, technologies and strategy for large utilities”, “Technological and investment criteria for new types of projects in the new renewable + BESS horizon” and “Featured Conversation | Mexico and its next wind wave: where are the growth and investment opportunities?”.
The program will also include debates such as “Where is renewable competitiveness at stake?: engineering, technology, industry and execution in the value chain vision”, “Adapting projects to Mexico: the importance of technological, construction and investment standards in the new stage of renewable and storage projects” and “The new stage of energy growth in Mexico: storage, distributed at scale and solutions for C&I”.
The business turnout reflects the magnitude of the event. Participating companies include Sungrow, Huawei, Siemens, CATL, Jinko, Axial, Vestas, 360Energy, Tuto Power, Schletter, Gotion, Enertis / Barlovento Applus+, Chemik, Solar Steel, Yingli Solar, Aurora Energy Research, GCL, Growatt, Process Technologies, Pylontech, Marsh, Atera, Alurack, DQD, Elecnor, Factiun, Grupo Zenit, BLC Power Generation, Telener 360°, Ventus, Renergy, Voltae, TSK, AMIF, MRM, and H2 México .
With an agenda focused on the issues that currently influence investment and development decisions, FES Mexico arrives at a time when the market needs technical clarity, regulatory understanding, and strategic vision to interpret the next phase of the country's energy growth.
