Colombia has established itself as one of the most dynamic renewable energy markets in Latin America. Between 2024 and 2025, the country experienced rapid growth in distributed generation and solar projects of varying scales, driven by increased energy demand, regulatory advancements, and a growing adoption of self-consumption solutions.
In this context, SolaX Power and Solaire announced a strategic alliance aimed at strengthening the development of the energy market in Colombia, integrating globally relevant technology with specialized local expertise.
The alliance was presented during the 9th LATAM Renewable Energy Meeting and Fair held in Barranquilla, a space that brought together companies, developers, integrators and key players in the regional energy ecosystem.
According to Luis Miguel González Castillo , Sales Director for LATAM at SolaX Power, the regional energy market is already entering a stage where renewable energies must respond to much more advanced reliability and stability needs.

“Eight or ten years ago we were talking about how renewable energies should evolve to behave as firm generation. Today, that scenario is already a reality,” he said.
“The market is evolving towards more integrated solutions, where energy storage, hybridization, and smart energy management are becoming fundamental elements. It’s no longer just about installing solar generation, but about guaranteeing energy stability, efficiency, and reliability,” he added.
According to González Castillo, Colombia has become a priority market within the company's regional strategy due to its growth potential and the need to strengthen local technical capabilities to support that expansion.
“When we analyze the behavior of the solar market in Latin America—excluding specific cases like Brazil and Mexico—Colombia consistently appears among the markets with the greatest potential and best development in the region. In centralized generation alone, Colombia has the potential to add between 5 and 6 GW by 2030, which demonstrates not only a great market opportunity, but also the need to strengthen local capabilities and technical support in the country.”
An alliance based on complementarity
Beyond a commercial relationship, the alliance between SolaX Power and Solaire seeks to respond to the new technical and operational demands of the Colombian market through a joint proposal that combines technological innovation, local support and sector experience.
While SolaX Power brings a specialized portfolio of inverters, energy storage and smart solutions for residential, commercial and industrial applications, Solaire contributes with a track record of more than 14 years in the Colombian market and a technical structure focused on specialized support for integrators and developers.
“Beyond the technical, commercial or logistical capabilities —which are fundamental and taken for granted—, for SolaX Power it is key to have allies that have credibility, track record and a deep knowledge of the local market,” said González Castillo.
Solaire has been supporting the development of the solar industry in Colombia for over 14 years, practically since its earliest stages of growth. For a global company like SolaX Power, having a partner of this caliber allows for accelerated brand penetration, strengthened customer support, and facilitated project development in a much more efficient and market-focused way.
From the perspective of Catalina Palacios Orrego , CEO of Solaire, the current state of the sector demands precisely this type of alliance between companies with complementary capabilities.
“The Colombian solar market is entering a stage of greater maturity and acceleration. Today we see growing demand not only for residential distributed generation, but also for commercial and industrial projects, as well as energy storage solutions. In this context, it was important for us to have a technology partner with global capabilities, constant innovation, and a vision aligned with the evolution the sector is undergoing,” he stated.
“SolaX Power embodies these characteristics. It has a very strong international presence, a robust portfolio, and a clear commitment to research and development. For Solaire, this alliance represents the combination of world-class technology and the local expertise we have built over more than 14 years in the Colombian market,” he added.
Technology, technical support and market development
One of the main objectives of the alliance is to strengthen the Colombian market's access to more advanced technologies, accompanied by local technical support and implementation capabilities aligned with the country's regulatory and operational needs.
Palacios Orrego believes that the growth of the sector will increasingly depend on the technical quality and specialized support that exists around the projects.
“We believe that the growth of the sector depends not only on there being more projects, but also on the market being able to access reliable technologies, specialized technical support and close support.
This alliance strengthens precisely those pillars. It allows us to bring more advanced solutions in inverters and energy storage to the Colombian market, combining global technology with local technical and commercial support.
This not only facilitates the adoption of new technologies, but also helps to raise the technical and operational standard of the projects currently being developed in the country.”
Within that approach, Solaire will continue to strengthen areas related to:
- technical support for integrators,
- specialized training,
- commissioning,
- warranty management,
- operational support,
- and regulatory support for photovoltaic projects.
According to Palacios Orrego, the evolution of the Colombian market today demands much more than product availability.
“Projects need regulatory compliance, operational stability, technical support, and the ability to adapt to an ever-evolving regulatory environment. The combination of local expertise and technology developed for highly competitive markets reduces risks for integrators and developers and fosters greater confidence in investment decisions.”
Launch and market positioning
As part of the alliance, both companies developed a joint launch strategy during the 9th LATAM Renewable Energy Meeting and Fair, including brand visibility spaces, technical activities and meetings with strategic clients in the energy sector.
During the fair, training sessions and portfolio presentations focused on inverter and energy storage solutions were held, as well as networking opportunities with integrators, developers and key players in the industry.
The joint participation in this event sought to strengthen the positioning of both companies within a market that continues to evolve towards more sophisticated and technically specialized energy solutions.
The alliance between SolaX Power and Solaire reflects an increasingly visible trend within the regional energy sector: the need to integrate global innovation capabilities with local structures capable of supporting the technical and operational growth of the market.
In a scenario where energy storage, grid reliability and distributed generation are gaining greater relevance, both companies agree that the development of the sector will depend not only on the available technology, but also on the ability to build more solid, specialized and sustainable ecosystems for the energy transition in Colombia.
