S LIDA has been awarded the detailed engineering contract for the Soco 34.5/138 kV substation, which will allow the evacuation of energy produced by the 50 MW photovoltaic plant of the same name, in the province of San Pedro de Macorís, in the Dominican Republic.
The work includes the design of the civil works, electromechanical assembly, control and protection of the substation, as well as technical support for the procedures with ETED, the Dominican Electric Transmission Company.
In parallel, the firm has begun engineering and technical advisory work for the construction of the 1.5 MW Pimentel photovoltaic plant in the province of San Francisco de Macorís.
In the Dominican Republic, it has participated in projects as diverse as the San Pedro Bioenergy biomass plant or the Guzmancito and Matafongo wind farms, the latter recently sold by Inveravante to InterEnergy.

The Dominican government's roadmap states that by 2030 renewable energy should represent at least 25% of electricity generation.
