“ We monitor storage systems in real time to anticipate any failures and optimize operations ,” revealed Jorge Cabrera , Business Development Manager at Sungrow Power Supply , at the presentation of the new monitoring center that the company inaugurated weeks ago in Santiago, Chile . From the hub in Santiago, Sungrow manages the real-time monitoring of critical variables in storage systems such as temperature, cell voltage, and state of charge, allowing for early warnings and the activation of technical teams in response to any event.
The service includes monthly reports with key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure traceability and operational efficiency. "This platform allows us to make instant technical decisions without relying on external support, which shortens response times and improves operational continuity," Cabrera emphasized during his participation in the Future Energy Summit (FES) Southern Cone. With this infrastructure, the technology firm strengthens its operational presence in the region, where it already exceeds 5 GW of photovoltaic capacity. This center is complemented by a service center located in Renca, which includes a repair laboratory, a spare parts warehouse, and a technical training space for employees and client companies. "We design solutions tailored to each project, like a custom-made suit, to address every need with technical agility," the executive stated. The strategy is geared toward one of the most critical objectives for asset operators: reducing operating expenses (OPEX).
According to the executive, local support is crucial: “ Our goal is to mitigate risks during operation and reduce costs , with readily available spare parts, constant updates, and certified personnel on-site. We professionalize our clients' teams so they have autonomy and speed of response ,” Cabrera stated.
The training center also aims to reduce external reliance on routine maintenance. Currently, the company operates in more than 10 Latin American countries , and its logistics network includes offices in four key markets , as well as eight warehouses distributed throughout the Andean region and the Caribbean , and four more in Brazil .

In that country, Sungrow already has 15 GW in operation and a dedicated technical team. As part of its expansion, the firm also leads projects in the storage segment , with 10 GWh secured in the region , of which 3.1 GWh are already in commercial operation (COD) , 3 GWh in the commissioning phase , and 4 GWh guaranteed for the first quarter of 2026. According to Energía Estratégica , in Colombia, Sungrow operates the country's largest battery and is deploying 1.4 GW in that market. In parallel, it has accumulated 25 GW of installed solar power in Latin America, of which 8.5 GW are concentrated in Spanish-speaking countries. " We don't just deliver technology; we build solutions together with the client to support them throughout the entire lifecycle of the project ," concluded Cabrera, reaffirming the company's position as a comprehensive provider for renewable energy developers and operators in the region.
