Sungrow , a leading manufacturer of inverters and power electronics storage solutions, anticipates a significant recovery in project development by the end of this year.

"I am leaving this trip, and the leaders at Sungrow are too, with a vision that this is a market that will definitely be reactivated," said Héctor Núñez , commercial director for northern Latin America at Sungrow .
During his visit to the country, the prominent businessman revealed that in recent meetings with developers and utilities, he noticed "clear signs that there will be an opening of the market," despite the challenges that still persist in the political and regulatory context.
"We understand that there has been a change in administration and of course it is natural that the first few months will be a bit of an adjustment and review," the executive said.
From Sungrow 's perspective, the development of projects will not depend solely on the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE) , but there will also be a key role for the private sector in promoting new solar parks and storage solutions, a technology that is gaining ground in the country.
"Mexico has a need for energy, and the fastest and most economical way to increase installed capacity is through photovoltaic systems (...) We have very good expectations beyond the projects generated through CFE, the projects that private companies can generate," Núñez stated.
The executive highlighted the recent publication of the General Administrative Provisions (DACGs) related to storage as a positive sign.
"The signal from the DACGs, in my opinion, is very positive and I definitely think that those of us present here will have a lot of work," Núñez emphasizes.
During his participation in the Future Energy Summit Mexico (FES Mexico), he detailed how technological advances in storage and photovoltaics have changed the current scenario compared to what was happening a few years ago.
"Today we have much more developed technologies, especially in terms of storage."
"The networks or transmission lines are never built as quickly as photovoltaic plants, but now storage systems can accompany the plants from scratch," he points out.
These solutions allow energy to be stored in case of curtailment and dispatched during peak hours, which improves the profitability and efficiency of the system.
In addition, Sungrow has already signed more than 7 GWh in storage contracts in Chile, of which 2 GWh are operational, demonstrating the viability of these technologies on a large scale.
In Mexico, although in recent years the focus has been on distributed generation, Sungrow has already supplied behind-the-meter solutions, and is now preparing for a new cycle where the utility scale segment will regain momentum.
Specifically, Sungrow's sales director for northern Latin America pointed out that in its 10 years of presence in Mexico, the company has accumulated 1 GW in utility projects and 60 MWh in behind-the-meter systems. A new expansion cycle with the latest technology: Among the technologies the company plans to promote in Mexico is the Power Titan 2.0 , a 5 MWh battery in a 20-foot container, which represents a significant leap forward in efficiency, compactness, and cost.
"We went from having a 2.7 MWh battery in 30 feet to a 5 MWh battery in 20 feet.
"This battery maintains the liquid cooling architecture and already includes the PCS inverters inside the container," Núñez explained.
The solution offers direct AC output to the transformer, allowing for simple and efficient integration.
According to Núñez, the new 314 ampere cell incorporated in this model substantially improves performance and reduces costs: "A year ago, batteries cost a little more than double what they cost today.
This equipment has been well received in markets such as Chile, where more than 3 GWh have already been signed with this model, and Sungrow hopes that with the new Mexican regulation, it will also be promoted in the country.
"This battery is capable of grid forming or even a Black Start, which will be necessary for some applications," the executive noted.
As for investors, the company manufactures both string and central technologies.
In this regard, Héctor Núñez mentioned that one of Sungrow 's most emblematic sales in Mexico recently was the supply of central inverters for phase two of Puerto Peñasco, which are already prepared to connect DC batteries when required.
