Suntech announced the successful grid connection of a new rooftop solar project installed at a commercial complex in Shah Alam, Selangor State. Equipped with Suntech's high-efficiency photovoltaic modules, the project has already begun generating clean electricity after completing the commissioning phase.
The installation offers a practical solution to advance the energy transformation and low-carbon development of commercial buildings in Malaysia, while helping to reduce their dependence on electricity from the grid.
The project was developed on a commercial complex owned by the real estate management company of Top Glove Corporation, the world's largest manufacturer of medical gloves. The complex integrates high-end hotel services, offices, and a wide variety of retail services, functioning as a comprehensive urban business center.
Developed jointly by Suntech and its exclusive Malaysian distributor, NexGen AI Capitals Sdn. Bhd., the project maximizes the use of existing rooftops without requiring additional land. Through an optimized photovoltaic system design, it integrates renewable energy generation with urban infrastructure, expanding the clean energy potential of commercial buildings.

The project is expected to generate approximately 608,000 kWh of clean electricity per year , with an average monthly production of around 50,700 kWh . The green electricity generated will primarily power the resort's hotel operations, offices, and commercial services, reducing reliance on grid electricity and improving overall energy efficiency.
