AIKO has increased the series production power of its COMET 3N72 module (AIKO-A-MDE72Mw) from 670 W to 675 W, achieving an efficiency of over 25% without changing its dimensions. The 5 W improvement was achieved through three specific engineering advancements applied to the cell and module design.
The 670 W version was the first serial production configuration of the COMET 3N72 module. At that stage, the integration between the cell and module technologies was not yet fully optimized. Following continuous engineering work, AIKO has incorporated a series of improvements at both levels, resulting in measurable power increases.
Improved cell passivation provides an additional 3.5W
AIKO has developed its own silver-free ABC cell manufacturing process, which significantly reduces damage to the passivation layer during production. This improvement also limits deterioration of this layer during module assembly, enabling a 3.5W power increase with this measure alone.

Higher transmittance from the front glass adds 1.0 W of power
In collaboration with its glass supplier, AIKO has improved the anti-reflective coating fluid of the front glass, increasing its transmittance from 94.4% to 94.6%. Although the increase of 0.2 percentage points may seem small, it translates directly into a 1.0 W gain at the module level.
Optimizing the metallization pattern adds 0.5 W
AIKO has refined the grid pattern of its 0BB (zero busbar) cells using finite element analysis software. This simulation allows for more accurate prediction of the evolution of series resistance. By optimizing the cross-sectional area of the fine grid lines at the cell edge, electrical losses are reduced, resulting in an additional power gain of 0.5 W.
These three improvements reflect AIKO's commitment to continuous engineering optimization, even after a product has entered mass production. The company does not view launch specifications as an end point, but rather as a foundation upon which to continue pushing the boundaries of performance.
As a leader in BC technology, AIKO doesn't just follow industry trends, it helps define them. From the P-type era to the N-type era, the company has introduced original technologies that have redefined what's possible in the solar industry.
Their innovations aim to increase the energy generated per watt, improve quality and strengthen the stability of the module throughout its entire life cycle, contributing to improved profitability for customers.
AIKO will present INFINITE ULTRA – AIKO ABC Gen 4 at Intersolar Europe 2026, where it will be present at stands A1.470 and A1.570.
