Just days before it takes place, FES Chile 2026 has reached 90% occupancy of its capacity, reflecting the interest of the main companies in the sector to participate in one of the most important business meetings in the energy industry in Latin America.
The event, organized by Future Energy Summit (FES) , will be held on October 28 and 29 at the InterContinental Santiago Hotel and will bring together executives from generating companies, developers, investors, technology manufacturers and institutional representatives.
Today, October 19th, is the last day to access presale tickets , in a context of high demand and limited availability of places.
Among the confirmed speakers are Juan Villavicencio, CEO of ENGIE Chile; José Arosa, CEO of EnfraGen Chile; María Teresa González, general manager of Statkraft; Jaime Toledo, CEO South America of Acciona Energía; and Matías Cox, director of Regulation and Institutional Affairs LATAM of Grenergy .

Also present will be Paola Hartung, Regulatory Affairs Director of AES Chile; David Rau, Board Member of Copec Flux; Andrés Assar, Head of Business Development South America of ContourGlobal; and Gonzalo Feito, Andean Region Director of Sungrow , among other executives from the energy ecosystem.
The call comes at a crucial time for the Chilean market, where the growth of renewable energy poses new challenges in terms of flexibility, electrical infrastructure, storage and competitiveness.
Storage, investments and tenders: the issues that affect the Chilean market
One of the main focuses of the meeting will be the development of energy storage systems, a technology that is playing an increasingly important role in the transformation of Chile's electricity grid. Chile doubled its operational storage capacity during 2026, while the project portfolio is already approaching 40 GW , highlighting the scale of the planned investments and the challenges for their integration into the electrical system.
This growth also presents new regulatory challenges. In this regard, ACERA proposed to the National Energy Commission (CNE) new rules for BESS systems and the creation of a spillage transfer market , with the aim of addressing aspects related to the operation of storage and the utilization of renewable generation.
Among the recent developments in the sector is the presentation of new urgent works aimed at strengthening the electrical system, which include a 200 MW BESS project and USD 77 million in transmission infrastructure .
In parallel, the dynamism of investments is reflected in the financing of USD 457 million obtained by Grenergy for 446 MW of solar capacity and 1.8 GWh of battery storage in Chile .
Added to this scenario is the redefinition of the roadmap for electricity supply tenders, with 19,300 GWh per year planned until 2030 , a volume that highlights the scale of the upcoming commercial opportunities in the market.
Likewise, Chile initiated a process of reforming its electricity networks, with a new law planned for 2027 , in a context where the modernization of the transmission and distribution infrastructure is fundamental to accompany the growth of renewable energies and respond to the new demands of the system.
These events form part of the context in which the FES Chile talks will take place, where industry representatives will address the prospects for the renewable energy business, the evolution of storage, and business strategies in the face of the new energy scenario.
