Ventus has been awarded the operation and maintenance (O&M) contract for the Puerta de Oro solar park , a 375 MWp installed capacity project located in the municipalities of Guaduas and Chaguaní, Cundinamarca, owned by Patria Investments. The contract includes comprehensive plant management, encompassing panel washing, electrical testing, supervision and operation of generation systems, and operation of high-voltage connection assets. With this award, Ventus surpasses 1,000 MW in renewable asset management in Latin America , consolidating its position as one of the leading regional players in operation and maintenance. The Puerta de Oro Solar Park has 511,380 photovoltaic modules and 300 centralized inverters, distributed across 540 hectares, equivalent to more than 750 professional soccer fields.
In addition, the project includes a 22-kilometer, 230 kV high-voltage transmission line and a 34.5/230 kV evacuation substation equipped with two 190 MVA power transformers. "Operation and maintenance are a fundamental part of the life cycle of renewable projects.
“It’s not just about keeping the equipment running, but about optimizing its performance, extending its lifespan, and ensuring that every megawatt generated contributes sustainable long-term value,” emphasized Federico Lombardo, Operations and Maintenance Manager at Ventus. “We are very proud of the trust placed in us by Patria Investments and of being able to support the growth of the solar sector in Colombia with the same technical excellence that characterizes Ventus,” concluded the O&M Manager. Puerta de Oro is a project that marks a turning point for the energy transition in Colombia.
Its recognition as one of the largest solar parks in the country and its entry into operation in 2026 reflect not only its magnitude, but also the responsibility involved in ensuring its efficient and sustainable operation over time. "For us, operation is not a phase subsequent to development, but the heart that guarantees the project delivers real value to the country's energy system."

Ventus' presence in Puerta de Oro strengthens our long-term vision: a plant that operates with technical excellence, optimizes its performance, and contributes sustainably to Colombia's energy security.
Luis Alberto Páez, CEO of Plataforma de Energía, Patria Investments, and CEO of Puerta de Oro, stated: “With this new award, Ventus reaffirms its leadership across the entire renewable energy value chain, from engineering and construction (EPC) to asset management and operation, strengthening its presence and commitment to the sustainable energy development of Colombia and Latin America.”
