YPF Luz inaugurated its fifth renewable energy park in the town of General Levalle, 380 kilometers from the city of Córdoba.
It boasts cutting-edge technology and unprecedented dimensions, featuring the most powerful wind turbines in the country. With a total of 25 turbines, each with a capacity of 6.2 MW, it achieves a total installed capacity of 155 MW of renewable and efficient energy; 50% more than the average installed capacity (4 to 4.5 MW) in most wind farms in Argentina, which require approximately 30 or more turbines to reach the same total capacity. It is one of YPF Luz's largest projects, requiring an investment of over US$250 million.
The energy produced by the park is sold to industrial customers through the Renewable Energy Term Market (MATER).
For this project, new power purchase agreements (PPAs) were signed with 40 customers, demonstrating the trust that Argentine companies place in YPF Luz. Martín Mandarano , CEO of YPF Luz, stated: "We are very proud to inaugurate a new renewable energy park in the province of Córdoba." He added: "This park demonstrates our commitment to Argentina's energy growth, supporting the country's businesses and industries with a reliable and cost-effective energy supply that allows them to decarbonize their operations."

“I thank everyone who accompanied us on this journey to see this new milestone realized.” The inauguration ceremony, held near the park, was attended by the Governor of the Province of Córdoba, Martín Llaryora; the Mayor of General Levalle, Laura Rodríguez Paredes ; and the CEO of YPF Luz, Martín Mandarano. Also present were clients from the industries and companies already operating with renewable energy from the park. With the inauguration of the General Levalle Wind Farm, the company reaches a total installed capacity of 3.4 GW, of which 652 MW correspond to renewable energy.
During 2025, it will continue with the construction of important projects such as the CASA Wind Farm, in Olavarría, and the El Quemado Photovoltaic Solar Park, in Mendoza.
This will bring its total installed capacity to over 3.8 GW, of which more than 1 GW will be renewable. General Levalle Wind Farm in numbers
- Investment: over 250 million USD.
- Estimated capacity factor: over 50%.
- Installed capacity: 155 MW.
- Energy equivalent to the needs of more than 190,000 homes.
- More than 300 people were employed during construction.
- Wind turbine technology: Vestas.
- Maximum power of each wind turbine: 6.2 MW.
- Blades: 79.35 m (10 meters higher than the obelisk).
- Sweeping area: 20,612 m² (equivalent to the surface area of four soccer fields). ⬢ For PEGL's connection to the national interconnection grid, YPF Luz built an electrical substation and a control building; that is, facilities that allow the park's energy to be connected to the electrical system.
